Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy describes how Kira Art Pte. Ltd., a private limited company incorporated in Singapore ("Kira", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use kira.art, the Kira mobile application for iOS and Android (the "App"), and related products and services (together, the "Service").

This Privacy Policy is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Use. Defined terms used here have the meaning given to them in the Terms of Use.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand how we handle your information.

1. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect from and about:

  • Visitors to kira.art and any subdomain we operate;
  • Users of the App, whether downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play;
  • Registered users of the Service (free, Basic, Pro, and Max tiers);
  • Anyone who contacts us by email, in-app support chat, or another channel.

This Privacy Policy does not cover the information practices of third parties whose services are linked from, or integrated with, Kira (for example, Apple, Google, or social networks where you publish creations), those services are governed by their own privacy policies.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide to us

Account information. Kira accounts are created by signing in with Google or with Apple (Sign in with Apple).

  • When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, profile picture (where available), and a unique Google account identifier.
  • When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple user identifier, your email address (or, if you choose Apple's Hide My Email, a private relay address that forwards to your real email), and, on first sign-in only, if you choose to share it, your name.
  • You may link more than one sign-in method to the same Kira account from Settings; we then hold the identifiers for each linked method. You may update your display name and profile picture within the Service.

Payment information.

  • Web purchases. When you subscribe at kira.art, we collect billing details necessary to process your payment. Card numbers and full payment credentials are handled directly by our payment processor (Stripe) and are not stored on Kira's servers. We retain only billing metadata such as the last 4 digits of the card, billing country, and transaction history, together with a Stripe customer identifier that links your Kira account to your Stripe customer record.
  • In-app purchases. When you buy a subscription or Booster Pack in the App, the payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your card or bank details. Apple or Google send us a signed transaction record containing the product purchased, transaction and subscription identifiers, purchase, renewal, and expiry dates, the status of the subscription (for example, renewed, cancelled, refunded, or in a billing-retry state), the storefront country, and an anonymous "app account token" that we generate to link the purchase to your Kira account.

Content and communications.

  • Content you upload, generate, or publish. This includes any images, videos, audio, prompts, text, or other materials you upload to or input into the Service (including photos you choose to pick from your device's photo library), as well as the Outputs generated for you by the Service.
  • Communications. When you contact us at [email protected], through the in-app support chat, or via any in-product feedback or report channel, we collect the contents of your message, any attachments (including photos you choose to take with your camera in support chat), and, for reports and account-deletion requests, the reason you select.

2.2 Information we collect automatically

When you use the Service, our service providers and we automatically collect:

  • Usage data. Pages, screens, and features you view, actions you take, generations you initiate, credits you consume, purchases you start or complete, and the date and time of these events.
  • Device and network information. Your IP address, approximate location derived from your IP address (country / region level only, we do not collect precise GPS location), browser type and version (web), device model and operating system version, app version and build number, platform, language and region settings, and randomly generated identifiers that we or our analytics providers assign to your device or installation.
  • Push notification token. If you allow notifications in the App, we store the device token issued by Apple Push Notification service (APNs) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) so that we can deliver notifications to your device.
  • Performance and diagnostic data. Error logs, crash reports (including stack traces and the state of the App at the time of a crash), latency measurements, and similar information about the technical health of your sessions.

What we do not collect. We do not collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA / Android Advertising ID), we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising, and we do not sell or share your data with data brokers or advertising networks. The iOS App therefore does not display an App Tracking Transparency prompt. We do not access your contacts, calendar, microphone, health data, or precise location.

2.3 Information from third parties

  • Google. When you sign in via Google, we receive the information described in Section 2.1 above. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Apple. When you sign in via Apple, we receive the information described in Section 2.1 above. We do not receive your Apple ID password. When you make an in-app purchase on iOS, Apple sends us the transaction information described in Section 2.1.
  • Stripe. Stripe may share with us information necessary for billing, fraud prevention, and dispute handling.
  • Google Play. When you make an in-app purchase on Android, Google sends us transaction information equivalent to that described for Apple in Section 2.1.

2.4 Device permissions used by the App

The App only requests the permissions it needs for a feature you have chosen to use. You can grant or revoke each permission at any time in your device settings; revoking a permission only affects the corresponding feature.

  • Camera: used only if you choose to take a photo to attach to a support-chat conversation. We do not access the camera at any other time.
  • Photo library (add only) : used to save the images and videos you download from Kira to your photo library. The App uses the system's "add-only" permission and does not read, scan, or upload the existing contents of your library. When you choose to upload a photo, you pick it through the system photo picker and we receive only the file(s) you select.
  • Notifications: used to tell you when a generation has finished, when daily credits are available, and for important account or billing notices. Notifications are opt-in and can be turned off at any time.

2.5 Information stored on your device

The App stores some information locally on your device to work properly: your sign-in session tokens (kept in the iOS Keychain or Android encrypted storage), cached images and videos from your feed and history, unsent drafts, your settings and preferences, and a timestamp of when certain prompts (for example, the daily-credit dialog) were last shown. This information is removed when you sign out of all accounts or uninstall the App.

3. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide and operate the Service — process your generations, route requests to underlying AI models, manage your account and linked sign-in methods, deliver Outputs to you, and store your history.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions — including verifying and linking in-app purchases to your account, allocating credits, handling renewals, refunds, restorations, and tax obligations.
  • Communicate with you — including transactional emails and push notifications (purchase confirmations, generation-complete alerts, daily-credit reminders, important service notices), product updates you have asked to receive, and responses to support inquiries.
  • Keep the App up to date — check the App version you are using against the current release so we can prompt you to update when needed.
  • Improve the Service — analyze usage patterns in aggregate to fix bugs and crashes, optimize performance, and prioritize new features.
  • Detect and prevent abuse — including violations of our Terms of Use, illegal activity, fraud, purchase fraud, and abuse of the platform, and to review reports submitted by other users.
  • Comply with legal obligations — including responding to lawful requests from authorities and meeting our tax, accounting, and regulatory duties.

We do not sell your personal information for monetary compensation, we do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not use your prompts, uploads, or Outputs to train our own AI models. (See Section 6 for how third-party AI providers handle data.)

4. How we share your information

We share information only as described below. We require every third party with which we share personal information to protect it to a standard at least equal to the protections described in this Privacy Policy, and to use it only for the purpose for which it was shared.

4.1 With third-party AI model providers

When you submit a prompt or upload content for generation, your prompt and any uploaded content are transmitted to the underlying third-party AI model providers we use to fulfill your request.

Each provider processes the data under its own privacy policy and terms. We use commercially reasonable efforts to select providers that meet appropriate data-protection standards.

4.2 For legal and safety reasons

We may share information with law enforcement, regulators, or other authorities if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to (a) comply with a lawful request or legal obligation, (b) enforce our Terms of Use, (c) protect the rights, safety, or property of Kira, our users, or the public, or (d) investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or illegal activity.

In particular, we report suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to the appropriate authorities and preserve evidence to the extent required by law.

4.3 In connection with a business transfer

If Kira is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or insolvency proceeding, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such transfer and any choices you may have.

4.4 With your direction

We may share information at your direction, for example, when you publish a creation to a public surface within the Service, share a creation to another app using the App's share sheet, or use a Kira-branded hashtag on a third-party platform. See Section 4.4 of the Terms of Use.

5. Public content

If you choose to publish a creation to a public surface within the Service (such as the in-app Discover feed or the public Gallery), or share a creation publicly using a Kira-branded hashtag (for example, #shotwithkira), the creation, together with any username, display name, profile picture, or social handle associated with it, becomes publicly visible. Other users, search engines, and third parties may view, copy, or share that content. Do not publish anything to a public surface that you do not wish to be public.

Other users can report public content that they believe violates our Terms of Use. When you submit a report, we record the reported content, the reason you selected, and your account identifier so that we can review it; we do not disclose your identity to the reported user.

6. AI generation, prompts, and outputs

When you use the Service to generate content:

  • Your prompts and uploads are transmitted to one or more third-party AI model providers (see Section 4.1) for the sole purpose of fulfilling your request.
  • Kira does not train any AI models on your prompts, uploads, or Outputs.
  • We cannot guarantee that third-party providers will not use your data for their own model improvement. Each provider's data use is governed by its own privacy policy. Where a provider offers an "API / no-train" option, we use it; where they do not, we select providers based on a balance of quality, cost, and reasonable privacy practices.
  • We retain prompts, Outputs, and associated metadata to operate the Service (for example, to show you your history and to enforce our Terms of Use).

7. Cookies and similar technologies

On the web, we use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) to:

  • keep you signed in to your account;
  • remember your preferences;
  • measure how the Service is used, in aggregate, via our product analytics provider;
  • detect and prevent fraud and abuse.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may degrade your experience or prevent some features from functioning.

The App does not use browser cookies. Instead, it uses the on-device storage described in Section 2.5 and randomly generated, app-specific identifiers assigned by our analytics and crash-reporting SDKs. These identifiers are not the device's advertising identifier and are not shared with advertisers.

8. Data retention and account deletion

We retain your information for as long as we need it to provide the Service and meet legal obligations.

Deleting your account. You can delete your account yourself at any time:

  • In the App: Settings → Account Management → Delete Account;
  • On the web: from your account settings at kira.art;
  • Or by emailing [email protected] from the email address on your account.

When you request deletion, your account is scheduled for deletion and you have a 30-day grace period during which you can sign back in and cancel the request. At the end of the grace period your account is permanently deleted, and we delete or anonymize your personal information and content within 30 days after that, except where we are legally required to retain it. Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel that separately in your store account settings, otherwise the store may continue to bill you.

Other retention periods.

  • Payment records. Retained for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, and audit laws. Apple and Google keep their own records of your in-app purchases under their privacy policies.
  • Logs, telemetry, crash reports and analytics. Retained for as long as necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service, after which they are deleted or aggregated.
  • Support conversations. Retained for as long as needed to resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for quality and dispute purposes.
  • Safety records. We may retain limited records of accounts terminated for serious violations (for example, CSAM or repeated abuse) to prevent re-registration, and evidence to the extent required by law.

9. International data processing

The Service is operated from Singapore. Some of our providers (see Section 4) operate in other countries, including the United States, the European Union, and other regions. As a result, your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for such transfers.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • correction — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • deletion — delete your account and associated personal information yourself (see Section 8), or ask us to do so;
  • restriction or objection — ask us to restrict or stop certain processing of your information;
  • portability — request a portable copy of certain information you have provided to us;
  • withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within a reasonable period and in line with applicable law.

Controls available to you directly:

  • Notifications — turn push notifications on or off in your device settings at any time.
  • Permissions — revoke camera or photo-library access in your device settings; the related features will stop working until you re-enable them.
  • Sign-in methods — unlink a Google or Apple identity from Settings in the App (at least one must remain). You can also revoke Kira's access from your Apple ID settings (Sign in with Apple) or Google Account permissions; doing so signs you out but does not delete your Kira account.
  • Public content — unpublish any creation you have made public at any time.
  • Marketing email — unsubscribe via the link in any marketing email; transactional messages (billing, security, legal notices) will still be sent.

11. Children's privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. In certain jurisdictions, the minimum age may be higher (for example, 14 in some EU member states, or 16 elsewhere), and the local minimum applies.

Users between the local minimum age and 17 may only use the Service with the verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian, as described in our Terms of Use. We may apply additional protections by default to accounts we identify as belonging to users under 18, including restrictions on public visibility of creations and on advertising-style features, as the Service evolves.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at [email protected]. We will delete the information as soon as reasonably possible.

12. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, and destruction. These include:

  • encryption of data in transit (TLS) between the App or your browser and our servers;
  • storage of sign-in tokens in the iOS Keychain or Android encrypted storage, never in plain text;
  • verification of in-app purchase records against Apple's and Google's signed notifications before granting any benefit;
  • access controls and least-privilege principles for our team;
  • monitoring and logging of access to systems containing personal information;
  • vendor due diligence for the providers we work with.

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, or if you become aware of a security issue affecting the Service, please contact us immediately at [email protected].

13. Summary of App data practices

For transparency, and consistent with the privacy details we publish on the Apple App Store and Google Play, the App collects the following categories of data. All of it is linked to your account, none of it is used for tracking, and none of it is used for third-party advertising.

  • Contact info — name (if shared), email address (or Apple private relay address) · used for account management and communications.
  • User content — photos and videos you upload, prompts, generated Outputs, support messages and attachments · used to provide the Service and for support.
  • Identifiers — Kira user ID, Google / Apple account identifiers, app-specific analytics and crash identifiers, push token · used for account management, app functionality, and analytics.
  • Purchases — in-app purchase history and subscription status · used for app functionality and analytics.
  • Usage data — product interaction (screens viewed, actions taken) · used for analytics and product improvement.
  • Diagnostics — crash logs and performance data · used for app functionality and improvement.
  • Coarse location — country / region derived from IP address only · used for app functionality (pricing, compliance) and aggregate analytics.

The App does not collect precise location, contacts, health or fitness data, financial account details, browsing history, or any data for the purpose of tracking you across apps and websites.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-product notification and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
