Safety & Content Policy

Last updated:

Overview

Kira supports creative image and video generation and editing while maintaining a safe, respectful environment. These rules apply to all parts of the Service, on web, iOS and Android, whether content is kept private or shared publicly.

This policy should be read together with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. The Terms of Use govern acceptable use and enforcement; the Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information for safety, moderation and reporting.

Our Approach to Safety

We aim to protect users from harmful or illegal content, prevent misuse of AI-generated media, and maintain a respectful community.

Prompts, uploads and Outputs are checked by automated safety systems. Public spaces are moderated using a combination of automated systems and human review. Authorized team members may access content when needed, for example to provide support you ask for, fix technical problems, keep the Service safe, or comply with the law.

Prohibited Content

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not create, upload or distribute:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or content that sexualizes minors in any way.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery, exploitative content, or identifiable real people in sexual or nude contexts without their documented, informed consent.
  • Deceptive or harmful impersonation, including non-satirical deepfakes, fabricated quotes attributed to real people, or content designed to be mistaken for a person's authentic statement or act.
  • Content promoting hatred, violence or discrimination based on protected characteristics.
  • Harassment, threats, bullying, intimidation or abuse of other users.
  • Content promoting self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.
  • Electoral disinformation or fabricated content about real political candidates, officials or processes intended to deceive.
  • Content infringing copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property rights.
  • Illegal content or content facilitating illegal activity.
  • Malware, phishing or other harmful code.

You must not bypass safety filters, rate limits, billing systems or security measures, including through automated scraping, reverse engineering or unauthorized API use.

Suspected CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other competent authorities. The responsible account is terminated immediately, and evidence is preserved as required by law.

Sexual and Adult Content

Kira does not allow or support sexually explicit, pornographic, nude or otherwise adult content. You may not generate, upload, publish, share or display it anywhere on the Service.

  • This prohibition applies to private generations as well as public posts, on web and in the App.
  • It covers the Discover feed, public Gallery, community features, and Kira-branded hashtags such as #shotwithkira.
  • Prompts and Outputs are subject to automated filters designed to block this content. Attempting to bypass them violates our Terms of Use.
  • Violating content may be removed, and account action may include permanent termination.

Gallery and Public Sharing

Public spaces are intended for general audiences. Only publish content that complies with these rules and respects other people's rights, privacy and consent.

Your profile is public, and so are the creations you publish, with their captions, hashtags, comments and prompts, and the creations you like. Other users, search engines and third parties may view, copy or share public content. Do not publish content you do not wish to make public. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Recommendations

Public feeds are ranked automatically. Creations about certain sensitive topics, such as religion, are not recommended in public feeds, even when they are allowed on the Service.

Reporting and Moderation

  • Report content: use the Report action on any public creation, comment or profile in the App or on the web. Reasons include sexual or explicit content, violence, child-safety concerns, spam and copyright infringement.
  • Hide content: use Dislike to hide content you do not want to see, or block an account.
  • Contact us: report content, accounts or illegal content by emailing [email protected].
  • Report privacy: we record the reported content, the reason you select and your account identifier to review the report. We do not disclose your identity to the reported user.
  • Response: we review reports promptly and aim to remove violating content and take action within 24 hours of receiving a report. Child-safety concerns are prioritized and escalated immediately.

Safety-related data is handled under our Privacy Policy. We may share information with authorities where necessary for legal or safety reasons, and we keep limited records of serious violations to prevent re-registration and to preserve evidence required by law.

Enforcement

Depending on the nature and severity of a violation, we may remove content, limit its visibility, restrict features, suspend accounts, permanently terminate accounts without refund, or report matters to authorities where required by law.

Users who post objectionable content or abuse others may be blocked from public spaces or removed from the Service. Repeated or severe violations may result in immediate, permanent termination without prior warning or refund, as set out in Section 6 of our Terms of Use.

Notice and Appeals

Where the law requires it, we tell you when we remove your content, limit its visibility or restrict your account, and why. If a decision was made by automated means, you can ask for it to be reviewed by a person by emailing [email protected].

Why Some Requests Fail

A generation or edit may be rejected or blocked if it violates these rules, triggers automated moderation, contains an ambiguous or unsafe prompt, or cannot reliably produce a compliant result. Attempting to evade a rejection or bypass filters is not permitted.

Your Responsibility

Follow applicable laws, respect the rights and consent of others, and review generated content before using or sharing it. You remain responsible for your use of Outputs outside Kira, including compliance with the rules of platforms where you publish them.

Policy Updates

Our policies may evolve as the Service, laws and safety needs change. Material changes to the Terms of Use or Privacy Policy are communicated as described in those documents. The date shown on this page indicates when this policy was last updated.
