Create your first image
Last updated:
You don't need a reference photo or a clever prompt. One clear sentence is enough. Your first image on the Free plan costs 5 of your 30 welcome credits.
1. Open the Editor
Go to kira.art and sign in with Google. You land in the Editor, on the Trends tab, with the prompt box in the middle of the page.
On desktop you can always get back here with Editor in the left navigation. On mobile web, tap Create at the bottom.
2. Describe one idea
Type what you want to see. The best first prompts name three things: the subject, where it is, and the look.
Try this one:
A small ceramic coffee cup on a pale wooden table, soft morning light, clean background.
Change the object, the place or the mood to make it yours. Leave the image slot empty, since you're creating from words.
3. Pick a model and send
The model chip next to the prompt box shows which model will run, usually Lite. Lite is fast and costs 5 credits, which is right for a first try. Nova and Ultra give higher quality on paid plans.
Press the send button. Kira opens your new project and the image appears on the canvas after a moment. If Kira asks a question first, answer it and it carries on.
4. Change what you don't like
Stay in the same project and tell Kira what to adjust. Mention what should stay the same, so it only touches what you asked for:
Make the cup blue. Keep the table, background and lighting the same.
Each result is saved as a version on the left, so you can compare and go back. Change one thing at a time while you're learning, and you'll quickly see what works.
Want to work on one area only? The tools on the right do single jobs such as Remove Background, Expand or Upscale.
5. Save it, or share it
- Export, in the top toolbar, downloads the image to your device.
- Publish posts it to the community gallery. Only publish if you want it to be public.
What to try next
- Upload a photo of your own and ask for one change, such as a new outfit or a different background.
- Pick a template card in Trends and see how its prompt is written.
- Make a short video from your image with Video Generation, on Pro and Max plans.
